Re-classification of assets is needed for the following purposes
- Change in depreciation rates
- Change in the categorization of Assets
- Understand the impact of changing the basis of depreciation
Set up the corresponding Asset groups AS05 (If not already present) and the depreciation categories AS04 . If present suitably change the depreciation rate.
Use the facility AS07 to associate the Group and depreciation category.
Use the facility AS01 and change the preset to use the depreciation category instead of the depreciation defined in the asset
Now define a ledger for the horizon for which the depreciation is to be calculated and run it to know the impact of the change in depreciation due to the reclassification of assets
